Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

What do the registrations include?

For details on the registration entitlements, please visit the Registration page

Can I register onsite?

Registrations will be accepted onsite. However we recommend registering prior to the conference so that your name badge and delegate pack will be waiting for you on arrival. Full payment will be required by bank cheque, credit card or cash for onsite registrations.

AIFS Cancellation policy

Cancellations received in writing at the Conference Office by Tuesday 19 June 2012 will be accepted and all fees refunded less an administration fee of $100.

Cancellations received after Tuesday 19 June 2012 cannot be accepted and will not be refunded, however transfer of your registration to another person is acceptable. The full name and details of the person that will replace you must be advised in writing to the Conference Office prior to the conference. No refunds will be made for non-attendance at the Conference.

Accommodation

How do I book my accommodation?

To book, complete the online registration form on the Accommodation page. The Conference Organisers will forward your contact details, reservation and deposit to the hotel/apartment of your choice.

Call for Papers

If my abstract is accepted to the conference, what date is the full paper due?

The conference does not involve submission of papers. We accept or reject proposals on the basis of the abstract. Presentations are either oral (individual or symposia) or poster. For oral, we assume presenters will make use of PowerPoint slides.

Will my paper be double-blind peer refereed?

No. Please See above.

Will it be published in Family Matters or as a conference paper?

We encourage all conference speakers (or poster presenters) to submit written papers to our flagship journal Family Matters. This can be done at any stage, and has a completely separate submission and review process, and papers need to comply with the Family Matter submission guidelines outlined on our website.
